An uninformed woman is like a stick of dynamite; she has power inside but nothing happens until her fuse is lit. “Navigating the Lipstick Jungle—Go from Plain Jane to Getting What You Want, Need, and Deserve!” ignites the fuse.

A woman can go into any department store to equip herself with a complete set of makeup including the current season’s shade of lipstick and a written guide on how to wear it as she prepares to present herself at the corporate door to get what she wants. She cannot go to any counter to find a personal guide on the set of skills she needs to empower herself to get beyond the ground door. The “Lipstick!” safari fills the empty gap in a woman’s wardrobe with information presented with laser-like clarity, launching her not only to the door, but explaining every step she needs to take along the way so she knows exactly what to do to confidently, politely, and powerfully achieve her goals.

The “Lipstick!” presentation answers the question, “What else do women with competitive education and technical skills guaranteed equal rights under the law need to do to get what they want in the corporate jungle?”  “Navigating the Lipstick Jungle—Go from Plain Jane to Getting What You Want, Need, and Deserve!” fills the gap in knowledge offering a guide to the 21st century woman who wants to know what to do to get what she wants, needs, and deserves. Currently only sixteen companies listed in the S&P 500 are run by women and fewer than 5 percent of Fortune 1000 CEOs are women.  According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, women workers as a whole earn $.82 for every dollar men earn.  ABC News conducted a study to learn why most women struggle. In their behavior lab experiment, volunteers were told they would be paid between $5 and $12 for their time participating in a study. Everyone was offered the minimum, but the men and women differed vastly in their reactions to the payment. More than half the men asked for more money, but only a third of the women bargained for more.

The reality remains that women are treated differently in the workplace in the way they are judged, rewarded, and punished despite advanced education, high-level skills and laws to ensure equal rights and opportunity. Women need information that until now has been unavailable to teach them how to politely and powerfully get what they deserve. Navigating the Lipstick Jungle fills the gap.
